Use of Low-E glass:
Low-E glass is a thin virtually invisible layer of metal or metallic oxide deposited directly on the surface of one or more panes of glass. The low-E coating reduces the infrared radiation from a warm pane of glass to a cooler one, thereby lowering the U-Factor of the window. This coating helps homes stay cool in the summer by rejecting sunlight, and warm in the winter by reflecting heat back into the home(as shown in the pictures below).
